Our Breton Blueberry Jam was born from a simple conviction: the best fruits are the ones we know, grown a few kilometers from our workshop in Poullaouen. A local fruit, a human story, respected know-how.
A sector taking shape
Blueberry cultivation in Brittany is progressively developing thanks to the involvement of the Prince de Bretagne market gardeners. By working with Les 4 Saisons, these producers benefit from concrete market opportunities, essential for supporting this new agricultural dynamic in the region.
Breton Blueberry Jam
Responsible and local sourcing
The choice to exclusively use Breton blueberries guarantees short supply chains and total traceability, from the field to the jar. This approach makes our jam one of the rare French jams made with blueberries of French origin, whereas the majority of blueberries used in France, both fresh and processed, come from abroad.
Meeting our Breton Blueberry producer 🫐
As part of an exchange organized by Prince de Bretagne - Cerafel, our team recently had the pleasure of meeting Christian Bernard, our Breton Blueberry producer.
This day allowed us to visit the Vilar Gren blueberry workshop as well as a blueberry orchard, in order to discover the different stages of the sector, discuss the specificities of this crop, and highlight the producers' know-how.
These moments of sharing are essential. They allow us to strengthen ties with our local partners and producers, better understand their profession, and together promote an exceptional raw material.
A great recognition
This initiative was recently highlighted in the France 2 1 PM news, through a report dedicated to Breton Blueberries, tracing the journey of this fruit, from its cultivation at Christian Bernard's farm to its processing at Les 4 Saisons.
Report broadcast on France 2's 1 PM news, dedicated to the blueberry sector in Brittany.
A big thank you to Prince de Bretagne - Cerafel for helping to establish this connection with France 2, and to France 2 for this wonderful spotlight on the blueberry sector in Brittany. This collaboration was also featured on the Prince de Bretagne website.
Prince de Bretagne, the brand of Breton market gardeners
Created in 1970, Prince de Bretagne is the brand of Breton market gardeners, pioneers in the field of market garden agroecology, a philosophy that unites all producers around respect for work, the land, the seasons, and the consumer. The brand now brings together market gardeners from 5 Breton cooperatives within CERAFEL: Sica de Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Socoprim, Eureden, Les Maraîchers d'Armor, and Terres de Saint-Malo.
